The three differences that actually matter

Most of the feature lists on either side are similar. These are the parts that change what you pay and what you can do.

Setup fees. TitleTap charges $997 to $1,997 up front depending on the plan. Title Engine charges nothing to set up at any tier. On the entry plans that is a difference of roughly $1,000 before your site is even live.

Metered changes. TitleTap's published plans allow one change request per month on the base plan, three on the SEO plan and four on the ads plan. For an agency that adds a county, changes a fee schedule or swaps a headshot, that ceiling is worth understanding before you sign.

Ownership. With Title Engine the domain stays in your name and the site is yours to take with you. Whichever vendor you choose, ask the question in writing and get the answer before you commit — a title agency should never have its own web presence hostage to a vendor relationship.

What the content library actually costs you

TitleTap's headline inclusion is roughly 100 industry video FAQs, 100 blog posts and 100 social posts on the SEO plan. It sounds like a lot of value, and there is a catch worth understanding before you buy on it.

That content is the same content every other TitleTap customer receives. When hundreds of title agency websites publish identical articles, Google treats it as duplicate content and picks one to rank — usually the largest or oldest site running it. The other several hundred get nothing. Prebuilt libraries fill a site up; they rarely make it rank.

Original content written for your agency, your counties and your fee schedule is worth more than a hundred syndicated posts, because it is the only version of itself on the internet. That is why we write two original posts a month for you instead of handing over a library that hundreds of your competitors already have.

The same applies to translation into a hundred languages. It demonstrates well. Ask yourself honestly how many of your closings last year needed it.

We will tell you if switching isn't worth it

Send us your current site. We will walk it, show you what we would change and what it would cost — and if the honest answer is to keep what you have and just add calculators for $49 a month, we will say that.

Frequently asked questions

How much does TitleTap cost?

TitleTap publishes three plans: Website Only at $249/mo with a $997 one-time setup fee, Website + SEO at $349/mo with $1,497 setup, and Website + Google Ads at $549/mo with $1,997 setup, which also requires a minimum $450/mo ad spend. Figures are from TitleTap's own pricing page.

How is Title Engine priced by comparison?

Title Engine starts at $49/mo to add calculators and forms to a site you already have, $99/mo for a custom website with local SEO and marketing, and $399/mo at the top tier. There is no setup fee at any tier.

What is the real difference between the two?

Price and flexibility, mostly. TitleTap charges a setup fee of $997 to $1,997 and limits how many changes you can request each month — one on the base plan, three on the middle, four on the top. Title Engine charges no setup fee and starts at a fraction of the monthly cost. TitleTap has the larger prebuilt content library.

Does TitleTap require a contract?

No. TitleTap's pricing page states “No contracts require, pay as you go” and offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. Title Engine also has no long-term contract and the same 60-day guarantee. Neither company locks you in.

Do I own my website with TitleTap or Title Engine?

With Title Engine, yes — the domain stays in your name and the site is yours to take if you leave. If you are evaluating any vendor, ask them directly in writing what happens to your site and your domain when you cancel, and get the answer before you sign.

What does TitleTap do better?

They include a larger prebuilt content library. Worth knowing before you buy on it: that library is the same content every other TitleTap customer publishes, so Google treats it as duplicate content and ranks one site — usually the biggest. We write two original posts a month for your agency instead, which is the only version of itself on the internet.

Is it worth switching?

Not always, and we will tell you if it isn't. If your current site is fast, secure, accessible, and your referral partners can order title and pull a net sheet on it, the honest answer may be to keep it and just add calculators for $49/mo.

What does TitleTap include that Title Engine does not?

A bigger syndicated content library and automatic translation into over 100 languages. Both demo well. Ask yourself how many of your closings last year actually needed translation, and remember the library is shared with every other customer on the platform, which is why it rarely ranks. Title Engine puts the budget into original content and a 50-state rate engine instead.
